Why would someone leave a perfectly good job with another company to come and work for me? This is what we call hiring anxiety.
If you are recruiting, now, or in the future you should have lots of answers to this question.
Yet I still see companies putting out the usual adverts and wondering why they are not getting the talent they want.
Now lets be clear here – the market has changed massively – candidates now have so much choice – and I hear lots of counteroffers are being made.
But how much time have YOU spent on understanding your points of difference. What’s the appeal? What benefits over an above salary make you stand out?
If I look at your website – does it look like I want to work there? What about your reviews from previous employees?
You need to have something that brings to life why potential candidates should choose you.
If you haven’t spent time thinking about this and importantly getting it out there so when candidates are doing their research, then you blend into a sea of other businesses.
So take an objective view of what you offer and what potential candidates see vs your competition. Spend some time thinking about how you can improve it and get to work. It will still be a highly competitive market but if you do the work you will have a better chance of attracting who you want and erasing hiring anxiety.
